Why Choose Access?
Making Neuropsychological Care Truly Accessible
Navigating mental health care in the Pacific Northwest is often overwhelming. Many people wait months, or never hear back when trying to find a neuropsychologist. The most common phrases we hear?
“I’ve called countless places and never received a call back.”
“I’ve been calling for months, but no one will take my insurance.”
“Only a few places answered the phone or returned my call. They told me I would have to change my doctors or buy their insurance plan to get an evaluation… if their doctors decided I needed one.”
At Access, we are working on changing that. We’ve built our practice around reducing barriers—not reinforcing them. While we understand that some people prefer to set up their evaluation through email or the use of the website, many people find that a phone call with Kim (who has decades of experience helping individuals understand the process, scheduling them, and answering questions) is one of the best parts of the Access experience! If you have questions or would like a call to help navigate setting up an evaluation, you will receive one!
Why We are Out-of-Network
We’ve chosen to work outside insurance networks because traditional insurers often:
· Limit how much time we can spend with you
· Deny coverage without clear reasons
· Restrict access to telehealth, even when transportation is a challenge
· Exclude vital services, such as assessing neurological impact on learning
· Require diagnostic details to be shared, compromising your privacy
Instead of letting insurers decide what care you receive, we believe that you should be making care decisions collaboratively with your provider, not with an insurance auditor.
What It Means for You
While going out-of-network does shift some cost to you, we’re actively working to make services affordable. We believe transparent, personalized care is worth investing in, and we’ll help you navigate your options every step of the way.
